About Scott Cassell
Scott is an undersea explorer whose journey goes beyond the boundaries of exploration. Demonstrating a profound passion for the marine world, he has set records by attempting to access new species to film, risking his life numerous times. He has been featured in 54 documentaries, including Discovery, Animal Planet, BBC, History Channel, NatGeo, and others.
His endeavors earned him praise from Sultans, royal families, and honorary titles from several countries for his conservation efforts. Always the protector, he earned the Medal of Valor, two Legion of Merits, and seven commendations for life-saving efforts at great risk to himself, some under extreme and combat conditions.
He has proudly served in the US Navy, Army National Guard, and State Guard in Special Operations, Cavalry Scouts, Combat Flight Medic, Counter-Terrorism Operator, and finally as a Company Commander of a Disaster Response Unit as a Commissioned Officer. Scott has seamlessly transformed his battlefield skills into those required of a researcher, documentarian, and undersea explorer, displaying the ocean’s vast beauty and fragility.
With the spirit of a warrior and a deep love for the sea, Scott ventured where few have dared. His groundbreaking encounters include a 54-foot-long Giant Squid, thousands of deadly Giant Humboldt Squid, Great White, Bull, and Tiger Sharks. Through these experiences, he showcased not only their ferocity but also their gentler sides, such as petting, tagging, and even playing fetch with Emma, the huge and now famous Tiger Shark. Scott's profound reverence for the ocean led him to become a seasoned submersible pilot, peering through his cameras into the unknown across the waters of North America and the shores of five other countries.
His audacious missions have also taken him into the realm of the sea's most deadly adversaries: drug cartels, mafia, and poachers. These acts of fearless compassion aim to unveil and halt the cycles of harm affecting several species, including Totuaba, Vaquita Porpoise, whales, dolphins, and even shrimp. Numerous entities around the world have used his anonymous footage of atrocities to support arrests and prosecutions.
Scott's work filming the enigmatic Humboldt squid spanned nearly 2,000 dives over 10 years. His documentation captured the vast majority of behaviors ever observed, showcasing their profound intelligence and often misunderstood ferocity. Such encounters underscore his message that understanding, respect, and empathy transcend all boundaries.
As an accomplished filmmaker and expedition leader, Scott's narratives and visuals transcend mere stories; they invite viewers to awaken a deeper love for Our Blue Planet and showcase problem-solving skills under pressure that can benefit anyone in a leadership role. His decade-long partnership with Luminox watches reflects the core ethos of his journey: endurance, precision, and the courage to illuminate the depths of our world and ourselves.

Scott was acknowledged by the Sultan of Brunei, his Highness Hassanal Bolkiah, for his efforts to save Brunei's reefs by saving sharks from China's shark finning nearly causing extinction. He dove with officials and gave numerous talks. Now Brunei protects all sharks by law.
Working as an undersea politician and warm educator, Scott had the great privilege of diving with Sultanates, government cabinet members and the Brunei media to show the differences of healthy reefs with sharks and terribly depleted reefs due to a lack of sharks.
Reporters from the Brunei Times and other media accompanied Scott during his expedition where he was able to show the high value of sharks, healthy reefs for ecotourism with great success.
The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation Laureate awarded to Scott for his work in Undersea Exploration and Environmental Conservation in 20212. Scott developed the Save The Seas program in Asia and invited numerous organizations, countries and educational institutions to come dive with him in an effort to inspire conservation. Diving Sipidan reefs researching and filming the affect of Shark Finning to the coral reefs proved to be extremely gratifying and beneficial
Luminox supported an exploration series by Scott in Malaysia assessing the reef condition and Shark Fishing with dozens of reporters and scientists from several countries. Several laws were written to protect sharks shortly afterwards and numerous organizations re-focused in shark conservation in several countries. Scott, to this day is deeply honored to have been a part of this epic moment in time and this movement continues to grow as Scott gave the project to the world and claimed no ownership. The concept continues to grow across the world effortlessly on it's own now

Our current projects are:
ONE- to use our submersible to map out populations of invasive Lionfish below diver depths (150-500 fsw) off Florida
TWO- develop a Lionfish removal system on the bow of the sub to catch Lionfish and sell them to local restaurants as a fully sustainable source of healthy, delicious fish
We are committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability through education and action.
